Sending from your own email using Gmail (& AmazonSES)

This is general advice, correct at the time of writing. Gmail or AmazonSES may change their system at any time. Also see this Gmail info page and our general policies and our lessons pages.

1. Gmail settings, Accounts and Import tab.
2. Send mail as… click ‘Add another email address you own’.
3. Type name and email address to be added. Leave ‘treat as an alias’ checked.
4. For SMTP Server, put email-smtp.ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com
5. For Username, add as supplied.
6. For password, add as supplied.
7. Leave Secured connection using TLS selected as is.
8. Add Account

Test that it works!
